For the [livejournal.com profile] 15minuteficlets challenge. The word is cookie.

"It's a cookie, you moron."

I glanced at the auburn-haired girl beside me. "I beg your pardon?"

She shot me her usual glare. "I'm referring to that." She jerked her thumb towards me and sighed exasperatedly. "Like I said, it's just a cookie. So stop staring at it as if it's some hot chick."

Typical of her to say that. So I ignored her scathing comment.

"Fine, fine, fine. Pretend you didn't hear me. That's what you people do best, anyway." She jumped off from the tool she was sitting on, shaking her head disbelievingly. "Besides, you freaks are nutcases. I can't believe I'm---"

"You really want to know why I'm staring at this cookie, right?" She turned to face me. I tilted my head and smirked. "I know you're dying of curiousity."

She snorted and rolled her eyes. "Right...it's like you're going to tell me. Save it for the psychologist."

"You know, it's just a question of whether you want to know, or not."

"Fine." She looked at me a bored expression on her face. "Satisfy my unquenched curiousity."

I leaned against the marble counter beside her, holding up the cookie. "All right. What do you see?"

"What is this, some stupid question-and-answer portion?" She frowned at me, her green orbs scrutinizing me. Of course, I had my eyes hidden by my ruby-red quartz glasses so she couldn't see if I was humoring her or if I was dead serious.

"Just answer the question."

"All right. It's brown and round and large. It has chocolate chips."

"Good." I grinned. "Now, bite."

"What?!" Her face had the expression of pure shock. I chuckled at the sight of her face growing paler by the moment. Of course, she had white makeup, but I could still see her reaction.

"Bite. It's really simple, just open your mouth, sink your teeth into it and---"

"All right, all right." Gritting her teeth, she bit hesitantly into the cookie. "So, what's your point?" She asked, chewing the soft dough slowly.

"You still don't understand, do you?" Dropping the cookie on a plate, I gazed down at her emerald green eyes, and leaned closer to her without breaking the eye contact. "You know what makes this chocolate chip cookie so good?"

"What?" She asked, her eyes growing wide.

I cupped her chin with one hand, bringing her face closer to mine. "It's so...addicting."

"A...addicting?" She murmured.

"Yes, Kate." I smiled slowly and licked the corner of her mouth to wipe away the smudge of chocolate. I placed my lips on her own, giving her a feathery, soft kiss. "Like you."
